Broward College has partnered with PeerForward and AmeriCorps State and National to launch the Peer Mentoring and Leadership program, the first of its kind.
Peer Leaders serve current Broward College students by providing mentorship, resource connection, and general support to model student success. Our Peer Leaders can support you each step of the way as you work towards completing your degree and reaching your educational goals. Peer Leaders are Broward College students just like you trained in leadership and mentoring skills.
Benefits of Mentoring:
Youth Transformation Foundation – Peer Mentoring International Student Scholarship
The Youth Transformation Foundation - Peer Mentoring International Student scholarship is awarded to (1) one eligible “international” student of the peer mentoring program at Broward College. To learn more about the Youth Transformation Foundation, please click here.
Scholarship Amount: $1,000
Frequency: Once per year
Award term: Spring term or Summer term
Application Opens: May 15th
Application Closes: June 30th
Eligibility Criteria
The Greenwald Leadership scholarships are available to eligible Full-Time and Part-Time students actively participating in the Peer Mentoring program and taking classes this term.
Award Amount: $750
This scholarship is provided in partnership with PeerForward and the Broward College Foundation. The scholarship is sponsored by the Greenwald Foundation.

Follow these steps to apply:
Scholarship recipients are encouraged to send a "Thank you" note or submit our 1-minute survey.
The "Thank you Letter" should be addressed to our donor "The Greenwald Foundation".
Please, send all thank you Letters to peermentoring@broward.edu.
Survey: If awarded, our team may send a "survey" to your BC student email to collect success stories.
The most successful Peer Leaders are members who possess the following qualities:
The Peer Mentoring program has over 100 paid part-time AmeriCorps positions available every year for eligible candidates. These student mentorship positions are called "Peer Leaders.
Peer Leaders (mentors) serve on the three main Broward College campuses: North Campus (Coconut Creek), Central Campus (Davie), and South Campus (Pembroke Pines). The positions require candidates to serve 100% on campus and in person.
These AmeriCorps positions start in the Fall Semester and require a 1-year commitment until July 31 in the Summer.

The Program begins recruiting efforts to fill peer mentor positions for the new service year in the Summer term. For a full service year, peer mentors begin in September. Please, submit ALL the items below to apply:
