Master your own recordings, engineer sound for a famous pop artist, or work the soundboard at an exciting live venue through study in the AS program in Music Technology at Broward College.
Learn with industry-standard equipment in our sound studios and labs. Work with professionals in the field as you begin your recording production career.
Students who participate in the Music Technology program will enter an excellent environment for creative development, experimental learning, creative thinking and hands on experience. Students will be able to learn on the most current recording and editing equipment and gain a first-hand understanding of the cutting-edge innovations that exist in the Music Technology field.

Fernando Ulibarri is an active performer, composer, and educator based in Miami, Florida. He relocated from his native Costa Rica to Boston in 1998 to study at the Berklee College of Music, where he graduated with a Dual Bachelor’s Degree, in both Music Synthesis and Jazz Composition. After working professionally in the New England area, he moved to Miami to attend Florida International University, where he obtained a Master of Music degree in Jazz Performance.
Fernando has performed concerts at Carnegie Hall, Teatro Nacional de Costa Rica, Arturo Sandoval Jazz Club, Berklee Performance Center, The Bass Museum of Arts, and various other venues in the United States and abroad. He has given lectures at the Universidad de Costa Rica, Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica, Broward College, New World School of the Arts, and on several occasions has been a clinician for the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz. In the Winter of 2014 Fernando released his first recording as a leader. Entitled “Transform”, it features all original compositions performed by his working quartet. Fellow band mates Jim Gasior (piano), Josh Allen (bass), and John Yarling (drums) contribute their unique musical vision to nine original compositions.
Fernando is currently a full-time tenured professor at Broward College, where he serves as both Assistant Professor of Music and as the Program Manager of the Music Technology Area, teaching music technology and production classes, as well as ensembles and jazz guitar.
