Welcome Registered Nurses

Hospitals desire their nurses to have a BSN in nursing to step into leadership positions and create high-reliable, transparent organizations. Professional nurses can complete their BSN degree in three to four semesters or 12 to 18 months at Broward College.

Application Evaluation and Status Check

  • After the program application period closes and program applications are evaluated, BC Health Science Admissions staff will send you an admission selection decision (accepted or denied) into the program within 30 business days (excluding weekends, federal holidays, and other college closure days) after the program application period closes.
  • Students that apply outside the application period, admissions will not be guaranteed for the semester.

Program Details

The RN-BSN Program has an online format that allows more flexibility for students to maintain a work-life balance. The one hundred twenty-three (123) credit hours incorporate the Associate of Arts (AA) and the Associate of Science (AS) lower-division coursework as a foundation for the baccalaureate program. The upper-division nursing coursework prepares professional nurses using technology and cognitive ability to be influential healthcare professionals within the current interdisciplinary setting to promote quality health care within a complex, dynamic global health care milieu.

  • Lecture classes are online. 
  • The BSN courses run between 8-12 weeks throughout the semester.
  • The courses within the BSN offered a well-rounded educational experience. 

The program is unique in its courses, including:

  • It has the only End of Life credited course taught by experts.
  • An Ethics course focused on current ethical issues. 
  • The campus is at Miramar West Center

Program Requirements: Admission Requirements Include:

  • All applicants possess an Associate Degree or higher from an accredited institution recognized by Broward College.
  • * All applicants have a Florida nursing license which is active and unencumbered.
  • * Possess a 2.5 Cumulative Grade Point Average

RN-BSN Program Curriculum Options 

The RN-BSN Program has an online format to allow flexibility for students focused on maintaining a work-life balance. The upper-division nursing coursework prepares professional nurses using technology and cognitive ability to be influential healthcare professionals within the current interdisciplinary setting to promote quality health care within a complex, dynamic global health care milieu. In addition, the curriculum provides increased educational opportunities for the Registered Nurse (RN) and Broward College Associate Degree Nurse (ADN) Graduate.

Broward College ADN Graduates and RNs applying to the program must have earned an Associate of Science (AS) Degree in nursing.

The RN-BSN Program currently offers four options for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): full-time, part-time, flexible, and direct admission acceptance options. 

*Students are obligated to meet with the BSN coordinator before registering for classes for their personalized educational plan.

  • Full-time Program Option: The full-time option is a 12-month (3 semester) track sequence of nursing core courses.
  • Part-time Program Option:The part-time option is a 16-18 month (4 semesters) track sequence of nursing core courses.
  • Flexible Program Option:The option maintains a sequence of nursing core courses providing an opportunity to enroll in one to two classes per semester.  
  • Direct Admission Option:The direct admission option is a full-time, part-time, or flexible option for Broward College ADN graduates.

BROWARD COLLEGE SACSCOC ACCREDITATION STATEMENT
