Many students can easily get confused when it comes to the difference between joining the Honors College and joining an honor society. Being part of both is truly ideal, but not required, for students seeking a more challenging academic experience during their time at Broward College.
Phi Theta Kappa is an honor society that adds distinction to your honors experience but it is not mandatory that you join. Additionally, you will pay a fee to join this organization. Honor Societies recognize all students who have shown academic excellence during their time at Broward College. Deadlines and qualifications vary among the honor societies.

Every year, Honors students present their research to their peers and to the Broward College faculty at our Honors Colloquium. The event showcases the talent and drive of our students with an emphasis on scholarly research. Current honors college students are able to access Colloquium documents by signing into our D2L page.
The Florida Collegiate Honors Council (FCHC) is a professional association of undergraduate honors programs and colleges in Florida. The conference provides an opportunity to network with Honors professionals and Honors students, to share Honors expertise, and to hear student and faculty presentations from across many disciplines.
NCHC has nearly 900 member institutions and several hundred individual members, impacting over 330,000 honors students. NCHC provides its members with resources, training opportunities and collaborative events to build and sustain honors programs and their curriculum.
The Southern Regional Honors Council promotes and advances Honors Programs and Honors Colleges in the Southern United States. The SRHC currently comprises 105 member institutions. The SRHC Annual Conference features opportunities for honors students from across the southeast to present scholarly research. In addition, students, professors, and honors administrators enjoy the collegiality and conversations regarding honors pedagogy and best practices.
The Hall of Fame is where the most inspiring student success stories can be found. These students have found success as members of honors organizations, have won transfer scholarships and have been distinguished within their departments.
JKC offers the largest scholarships in the country, in-depth academic counseling and other direct services, the Cooke Foundation seeks to help high-performing, low-income students to develop their talents and excel educationally. Broward College ranks 2nd, in the nation, for this prestigious award.

Phi Theta Kappa's All Florida Academic Team
The All-Florida Academic Team, recognizes outstanding students for their academic achievement, leadership and service to the community. Students are nominated by their respective colleges to the All-USA Academic Team competition sponsored by the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.
